Use Your Freelance Writer Skills to Promote Your Book

I wrote my first book with no clue how to market or where to start. It is by divine direction that I ended up as a freelance writer, wearing the hat of a book publishing coach and speaker. While I was still trying to figure out how to publish my first book, a Christian Magazine was looking for writers. I submitted several stories and ended up becoming the Assignment Editor for the magazine.

Writing has become a big part of my life. I still have a lot to learn but the knowledge I have acquired has carried me thus far to soar in ways I would have only dreamed of in the past. Working as a freelance writer has its advantages in promoting your first book. Why? You can write content for other online sites on various topics, or those that are passionate to you.

How I started attracting attention to my book and establishing myself as a freelance writer began with writing for web sites like article base, ezine articles, self-growth, authors den, and a few others. I cranked out articles on topics like how to publish a book, finding the right publisher, preparing your book to self-publish, etc.

Using your freelance writer skills to promote your book should first start with setting up a plan of action. What are you going to write about? Where will you find your readers? Once you do that, check out www.ezinearticles.com to locate your category and start submitting.

Once you have navigated through the submission process at ezine articles, search for other sites to submit content. Don’t forget to set up a book site to refer readers through your byline at the end of your article. A book promotion site can be one page with your book displayed, maybe an excerpt to read. Keep in mind your goal as a freelance writer is to attract visitors who may purchase a copy of your book.
